"Star Trek: Alien Domain" / "Star Trek : En territoire alien" était un jeu vidéo de stratégie multijoueurs en ligne (sur navigateur web) développé par GameSamba en partenariat avec CBS Interactive.
Contexte[]
L'histoire se déroule dans l'espace fluidique (introduit dans "Star Trek: Voyager") à la fin du 24ème siècle (quelques années après le retour de l'USS Voyager dans le quadrant Alpha) et développe un conflit entre les flottes de la Fédération et de l'Empire klingon coincées dans cette anomalie.
Peu après le retour de flottes coincées dans l'espace fluidique, un nouveau conflit se développe dans le quadrant Gamma entre les flottes de la Fédération et des forces rebelles du Dominion.

- It has been many years since the return of the USS Voyager and the galaxy was first introduced to the extradimensional realm of fluidic space. Species 8472, the violent, xenophobic beings indigenous to fluidic space, returned to their realm after forming an uneasy truce with Starfleet and the Voyager crew, who had turned over one of their nanoprobe warheads as a show of good faith.
- Not convinced the truce would last, the Federation and Klingon Empire secretly began researching and evaluating the potential future threat posed by 8472. During this intense period of research, one of Starfleet’s new Fluidic Research Centers detected a strange anomaly within the Alpha Quadrant, similar to the rifts previously created by Species 8472.
- Realizing that this was a rare chance to research an active quantum anomaly, Starfleet Command and the Klingon Empire independently sent small fleets to secure the area around it for analysis.
- The fleets left from nearby starbases, expecting a simple mission to escort researchers to the anomaly’s location. Little did they know that this was just the latest step in a long-running trap engineered by Species 8472 to better understand the strengths and capabilities of their new Alpha and Beta Quadrant enemies.

- The recent events of Star Trek: Alien Domain have come to an end. Several fleets have returned from fluidic space, and warned Starfleet and its allies about the continued threat of Species 8472. The Klingon forces have returned to their territory to plan, and regroup. Following those events, nothing related to the 8472 incident has happened since. However, tensions are rising underneath the surface.
- Reports surface from Federation scouts in the Gamma Quadrant that strange wormholes were appearing, and Federation allied forces in the area have been going missing. Starfleet command believes it to be Species 8472 making its move, and trying once again to enter our space. Starfleet sends a captain (player) who survived the trials of fluidic space to oversee the construction of a new starbase being built on the other side of the Bajoran wormhole, in the Gamma Quadrant.
- A new rogue faction comprised of former Dominion members have sent forces to the strange wormhole, only to have them disappear as well. Blaming the Federation for bringing this trouble to their home, this faction uses it as an excuse to begin a new conflict with the Federation forces.
- Both sides must not only face each other, but also must prepare to face 8472’s forces from fluidic space.
Gameplay[]
Les joueurs construisent leur réseau, construisent leur base, gèrent leurs ressources, se défendent eux-mêmes en utilisant des vaisseaux.
Développement du jeu[]
Après une phase bêta en 2015, le jeu est sorti en 2016. Une version en français était également disponible peu après.
En 2018, une expansion du jeu se développe sous le nom "Alien Domain - Incursion".
En 2022, les développeurs annoncèrent la cessation des opérations du jeu, avec la fermeture des serveurs en juillet.
